Fish Alberta's Alpine & Prairie Lakes

Alberta isn't what usually comes to mind when someone mentions trophy rainbows and still waters. However, with the help of aeration and special regulations, some pothole lakes in the southern part of the province are consistently producing rainbows over five pounds. These lakes are very fertile and produce amazing growth rates amongst the trout. As most of these lakes are accessible by vehicles, fishing can be done from shore, belly boats, or drift boats.

Although most of these lakes are not difficult to get to, they do require some hiking, so being in shape is a good idea. We highly recommend combining one of the many stillwater opportunities with a float trip on the Bow River or a Walk and Wade.

Corporate Trips on the Bow
Fly fishing float trips are an excellent way to impress clients or reward co-workers and employees. They are becoming the vehicle of choice for treating employees in team building exercises or for entertaining important out-of-town clients.

Single or Multi-day packages are exceedingly well organized, including equipment, flies, lunches and pit stops. Every facet of the trip is planned with nothing left to chance. Each trip usually lasts between 8 and 10 hours. Upgrades are available.

Bow River Hookers will handle all aspects of the trip with courteous professionalism and complete attention to detail.

The beauty and tranquility of the Bow River Valley by itself is enough to rejuvenate employees and impress your important clients. Add some fish to the mix, some friendly competition and you have a function your guests will talk about and look forward to every year.

We provide corporate clients all inclusive single or multi day packages designed to suit your guests' needs, with all the necessary equipment provided. There are three fly fishing methods that can be used to generally describe Bow River fly fishing tactics: nymphing, chucking dry flies and stripping streamers.
